I was going to the local coffee shop and ordering an ice cappuccino. One day their machine wasn’t working and they offered to make me an iced coffee with a shot of vanilla in it. It tasted the same as the other drink I was getting. So I went home and started playing with the portions and came up with how I now make my vanilla iced coffee at home, for a lot less than the coffee shop.
Vanilla Iced Coffee
What you need:
crushed ice (you could also used ice cubes)
half & half (can also use milk, heavy cream)
1/2 teaspoon vanilla (more if you like)
1 teaspoon sugar (more/less to your preference)
coffee to fill the cup
I add the cream before the coffee, but you can add the coffee then the cream if you want to measure by color. The amount of cream to add is on your liking. I add in about 1/4 cup.
You then top with whipped cream and a drizzle of chocolate syrup.
Drink and enjoy. This is delicious and refreshing. You can make this in a pitcher and serve at a party as well.
