I blame a certain TV show that I refuse to name because they don’t deserve my time, breath or energy to mention. They ruined couponing for everyone and brought to light bad couponers. There were a few good ones. But I feel everyone has suffered from this.
Couponing has changed
Where I live in Michigan, no stores double coupons any more. And let’s face it, the coupons that are out there are lower in value are not of things I want to buy. Am I the only one?
I am super frugal now when shopping.
Meat has to be on sale. I buy a lot of it to separate into meal portions and freeze it.
I cook smaller meals, so we aren’t wasting left overs we might not eat (so we are tossing out less food). If it’s not on sale, I second guess purchasing items.
I shop at the local fresh produce markets to get them at lower prices.
My weekly grocery list is usually of bread, milk, produce and snacks for the kids lunch.
We survive on the veggies we canned in the summer from our garden.
We add veggies to stretch meals farther.
I hope some day there are coupons I can use and that stores will allow doubling again. Stores have said they are offering lower prices, so they would not need to offer doubling manufacturers coupons. I liked the coupon, so I could see the discounts and know I really was saving money.
How are you surviving with the current coupon-less deals? Do you still find coupons you can use?
